At the top of the curriculum: Portuguese. For our teachers, too, the language of instruction is first and foremost a foreign language that they themselves once had to learn. In everyday life, in the family and in the villages, it plays only a subordinate role. Without it, however, there is no education in Guinea-Bissau and no real chance of social and political participation.
